When I first learned that I had the opportunity to take a study abroad trip to a third-world country such as Panama, I was very excited because I have never been to a kind of place like that before, especially in Central America. Something I really want to learn more about and gain from this trip was the international business and what Panama is really known for. As soon as we landed at the airport, I knew Panama was going to be an experience I would never forget. Seeing the country light up at night was breathtaking. It honestly made me so happy. Panama is a country with a lot of opportunities to grow in the real estate industry because of all of the land they have here. I found most of the speakers very informative and helpful with their presentations because I want to go into real estate and also get my International Business certificate as well. Some differences that Panam? has than the U.S. is that they have the largest world trade free zone in the world, they use the U.S. dollar but also have their own currency, and Panam? has over 300 local businesses. A big difference between both countries is the weather. I?ve never experienced weather like this in Texas. This whole experience has been very eye-opening and has taught me a lot about studying abroad with all the benefits it offers you. International business is very important to understand as the world is evolving each and every day. As a business student going abroad has challenged me to think like a global business leader and set foot into their own shoes. I will keep learning and growing to fully develop a global mindset in order to make rational international business decisions in the end.
