Howdy! My name is Angela Rodriguez. I am a business supply chain major. The abroad trip I had the privilege to experience was the Regents Ambassador Program Panama trip. This trip is the first of many for me. First time flying, first time leaving the country, and first time experiencing such a culture immersion. I traveled with about 30 other people, and I have loved every second of it. While we were driven around, I was shocked to see how many similarities there were within the city and close together everything was. Some of the skyscrapers and building reflected those of Houston. All of the streets were filled with businesses and people everywhere. I rarely saw any cops or homeless people. All of the people were so nice, and I was able to ask for guidance and direction whole easily being able to strike up a conversation with them. The people in my program come from so many diverse backgrounds and ethnicities and while exploring and discovering new things, I was able to see and learn more things about them and myself. We pointed out what we thought was interesting and what it reminded us of. From this I hope to see how global business is different from the U.S. I hope to learn from the companies and business meetings. I want to know what else there is in the international business world and the options available to me.
