I arrived to Panam? city on Saturday night. My initial impression wasn?t very glamorous. However, after getting to know the beautiful Panama City and culture I fell in love with it. It is a lively city (with a lot of traffic). There is building everywhere with lots of lights and beautiful structures and houses. It is a very cozy place to live. People are always active and friendly here. There is a lot to do from beaches to shopping malls it is all amazing. I hope to gain cultural experience from Panama and carry it in to all of my future business endeavors. I hope to become more culturally aware and remember to take into consideration where people come from and there customs. It?s is important to have a global mindset even when locally to have better relationships with many businesses. A big difference in Panam? is the language. Panama?s main language is Spanish and mostly everyone here speaks Spanish. In order to communicate I have to speak Spanish and it is a nice way to connect to my culture in another country. Another difference is when you say ?thank you/gracias? Panamanians answer with ?okay? instead if ?you?re welcome/de nada? like in the US or other Latin countries. It has happened in many occasions where we go out as a group and say thank you and get this response. It was definitely a culture shock and at first we thought people were just being rude but quickly realized that is their social culture here. I hope to keep enjoying my time in Panama and keep learning on about the culture and the experiences I have lived here. I hope that other people will learn to appreciate culture like I will appreciate Panama and apply what I learned in my everyday life. Now it is tule to enjoy the rest of my trip.
