After my initial impressions about Panama, I was able to expand my knowledge on some topics that I had already known. I went more in-depth with our tour guide and occasional uber drivers about topics like their currency, way of living, and their culture. I was able to learn more about each type of coin they have of their own currency, while also accepting the United States dollar as their currency as well. As we traveled through different businesses, I was able to learn more about how diverse Panama is. A lot of the business that we attended showed so much awareness to being a diverse, open leader which I find admirable. My favorite business visit has to be visiting estee lauder, the beauty company. At this beauty company, we were able to see the whole office while also learning more about the history of their company, along with their set values. Just like my first impression, I knew Panama was going to be admirable in their business aspect and going more into businesses in their country further proved my point. Another memorable business visit has to be attending Pepsico, and seeing more of their warehouse and how they store/keep items. Learning as well that Pepsico in Panama strictly only imports all their products, and does not manufacture any of their products there. After learning this information, it was super fascinating to learn that nowhere in their country was there a Pepsi manufacturer compared to other countries that do both. After also seeing many small businesses throughout Panama city, I also saw the friendly, respectful tone from workers when shopping. In other words, Panama has many interesting and admirable differences but also shares a lot of similarities to America?s business settings. This trip all together was very beneficial to learn more about global businesses.
