Oh wow…. how good has Milan and this whole semester been to me. From the busy first few days immersing myself into a new culture to the last few slow days walking around the city taking in all the architecture one last time, my life was changed. This experience could not have been achieved if it was not for the wonderful friends I made along the way. These new found friends were not only those who are from countries or cities other than mine, but those from A&M as well.
Milan was the absolute best city to call home as I studied and travelled all across Europe. The city had a bustling modern feel blended perfectly with inclusion of historical architecture. The aspect that made Milan so easy to live in is the abundance of English speakers. It gave me a feeling of home bundled with the uncomfortably of a new place that pushed me out of my shell. Also the centrality of Milan allowed for easy travel to other major cities across Europe. In whole, I was able to see 11 new countries filled with historical sites that I had only ever read about.
Overall, this past semester has been some of the best months of my life. Study abroad has allowed me to grow as a person and slow down the fast nature of life in order to enjoy the small moments along the way. This experience now has me awaiting for the next time I can fly back to Europe to see all those friends who live over there and reminisce on the previous semester.
