Over the course of this trip, I learned so much about conducting business and engaging with individuals from all over the world. Perhaps the most valuable things I learned were the importance of networking, staying up to date with current events, and keeping an open mind. I initially figured that European financial markets would be largely separate from those of the United States. However, I learned that many recent events that affect economics in the United States, such as the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank or the inflation of the US dollar, have deep impacts in Europe as well. Additionally, I never considered beginning my career in cities like London or Paris, but because I have now made numerous connections and been exposed to so many wonderful opportunities in these places, I will be applying for internships next summer with some of the institutions we visited. Ultimately, this program has exposed me to so many new cultures and ideas, and I couldn’t be more grateful to Dr. Sorescu and Mr. Sinn for making it happen.
