Stepping foot on to Iceland you arrive in a totally different world. This is a country entirely made up of rocks, volcanoes, and streams. It takes nature and turns it to the extremes in every beautiful and harsh way possible. And yet, with a population of less than 400,00 people, Iceland has pulled off some amazing feats. Iceland has an abundance of underground heat from volcanoes and geysers. They use this heat and the pressure from the earth to create steam that then gets turned into a number of things. As one thing is created, the steam cools and is then used for something that requires less heat. It is an incredibly useful energy system with very little waste, and any CO2 emissions are captured and put back into the ground in a solid form. Not only is this country gorgeous and a force of nature, but a center for ideas and experimentation.
