Iceland is beautiful. I?ve loved getting to meet new people, try new food, and learn more about who I am as an individual. Going on this trip has pushed me out of my comfort zone, and it has highlighted my core values. This trip has shown me how far authenticity and kindness will take you in life. No matter where you go or where you are, the way you behave is a reflection of your character and your core values. Actions speak louder than words, and being an effective leader means you have cultural awareness, self-awareness, humility, selflessness, and the ability to concede. I?ve witnessed many of my peers possess or fail to possess these attributes, and it has inspired me to want to be better. Not better than them but better than myself. The goal is to be the most authentic leader I can possibly be, so even though this blog post isn?t directly correlated to Iceland, it?s my greatest takeaway. This experience has been extremely eye-opening, and I?m glad that God has given me the opportunity to take this trip.
