It is July 13th (our 4th day here) and I am already so in love with this city. Everything about it is just amazing. From the architecture to the food. Barcelona is probably one of the prettiest cities I have visited. When I’m walking down the streets you can see me looking up at the buildings and just admiring how absolutely stunning they are. The food is also delicious. So far on this trip, I haven’t had paella, but when I came in December I had the opportunity to have some and it was to die for. Our apartment building is located a minute away from La Sagrada Familia and it is spectacular. I could honestly never get tired of walking past it every day to get to the metro. I could honestly see myself living here in the future, especially since I have family that lives in Madrid.
The business program has been so much fun and the group of people we are with are so nice. The tour guides and coordinators have been taking us on fun excursions (Montju?c, a scavenger hunt around Barcelona, and a port visit). The hike up Montjuic was a little tough and I am still sore from it but the view made it worth it. The scavenger hunt around the city was also so much fun and my team did win so that’s even better. The last excursion we have been on was a boat ride around the port. The sun was excruciating, but it was super cool seeing how much the port does. During this experience, I hope to expand my knowledge about the European Union and international business. I hope to work in international business in the future, so hopefully, this study abroad can help me be further prepared in that field. I am excited to spend the next 3 and a half weeks here and see what we get up to.
