I have been in Spain for twenty days now, as I arrived early with my family before the program began. My first impressions of this city, Barcelona, is the absolute beauty of the architecture, the busy city life that takes over every street, and the varying degrees of smells you encounter while walking through the city. My initial impressions of the program were excitement and of course some nervousness. I checked into the apartment on Carrer de Maria Cubi and met my five roommates. We toured the apartment together, talking about how spacious and accommodating it was. We had air conditioning (hooray! My previous Airbnb had none), a huge living room, spacious bedrooms, and plenty of storage space. Our apartment is right near plenty of restaurants, a gym for myself, and shopping areas. I definitely saw us making plenty of memories in the apartment in the future, despite us being out of it most days! While all of my roommates are different in their own ways, we all get along great and have been traveling to and from class together, getting meals, and trying new opportunities in Barcelona together. The week of classes flew by and I am already done with two of my larger presentation projects. All thirty fellow Aggies I?m here with are great, friendly people who all have the same idea about Barcelona in mind: let?s use our time here wisely and experience as much as possible before we have to return home. I am having the experience of a lifetime here in Barcelona and I hope to continue to do so throughout the rest of the trip. I would ultimately like to leave with a thorough knowledge of Barcelona and its features, a comfortable feeling that I used my time wisely, and a good bunch of new friends that I have shared memories in Spain with.
