My first impression of Barcelona was a feeling of surprise and excitement . I have never been outside of the United States before so traveling to Spain was nerve racking at first. However, after a smooth flight and once I started walking around Barcelona, all my nerves went away because of all the amazing things about the city I saw. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to get used to the city of Barcelona and how easy it was to feel comfortable in a city I have never been to before. I loved seeing the different housing style in Europe, riding the metro as a quick way to move around the city, and the new restaurants and shops I saw along the street. On the day we had class this past week, it was amazing seeing the way a university looks like in a different country. The university we visited was very modern on the inside, but had a historical feel based on the outside of the building. Overall, my initial impression of Barcelona was instant excitement because of all the new things I got to see and all the new experiences I have made so far.
