The second half of the Costa Rica study abroad was a great time and very informative. We got to learn about many different businesses and their operations in order to be able to see how they could expand their marketing operations into the United States. We started the week with visiting the Toucan Rescue Ranch and got to see many different animals such as monkeys, sloths, parrots, sea otters, and of course, toucans! It was very exciting getting to interact with all the animals there in Costa Rica and learn more about their country’s wildlife. Next we went on a coffee tour and got to try one of the main things Costa Rica is known for. The coffee was great and the tour guide was very exciting and funny and made the tour very enjoyable. Next we went to the chocolate tour and got to try many different kinds of chocolate that they make from their cocoa plant down in Costa Rica and it was all really good chocolate! Also on Wednesday we were able to all go and take a day trip to the beach in Jaco, Costa Rica in order to be able to observe the beautiful beaches they have down there. Overall, Costa Rica was quite the experience and I had a pretty good time getting to visit things such as waterfalls, volcanos, and beaches. I am thankful for the time I had and the experiences I will now be able to share!
