Exploring Barcelona during the first few days of my two week trip has been absolutely breathtaking. Every moment of the trip has been full of new experiences, beautiful architecture, tasty food, and welcoming people. The first day of the trip was exceptionally busy as we landed at 8am and hit the ground running in order to fight jet lag due to the time change. Once we settled into our apartments we grabbed a quick lunch and then set out on a group scavenger hunt to explore the city. I really enjoyed this opportunity since we got to see so much in such a short period as the clues took us across the downtown area. The area and buildings were really unique and much older than the majority of the buildings in the U.S., and the locals we met had a lot of pride in their city.
The second day of the trip we finished the scavenger hunt with a little more exploration of the city and we had our first class at OneCoWork. The building where we had class was non-traditional but I really liked the atmosphere. The work environment at the office was very open and interactive. The most impressive part of the day was when we toured Sagrada Famila in the afternoon. The building was stunning and I got to learn so much about Antoni Gaudi and his vast work. The organic design was breathtaking and the vibrant colors were very impressive. Gaudi’s style of architecture has quickly become one of my favorites throughout the duration of the trip as I have seen more and more of his designs around the city. My initial impression of Barcelona was that the old buildings had a rich character and I can say that this has become more and more prevalent as each day passes and we see new places.?
