It has been a week since we have left Barcelona, and I am still adjusting to being back in College Station. My sleep schedule definitely has not adjusted yet. I enjoyed my experience immensely and have grown so much as a person. I can’t wait for my next time back. I was able to expand upon my worldview and develop my communication skills. While I did not know Spanish, I was able to pick up on other cues in order to understand what others were saying. Christina, our tour guide, was exceptional in making sure that we truly experienced all of Barcelona.
During my time in Barcelona, I learned more about the business culture. Overall, branding holds less of an impact on consumers. A greater emphasis is spent on quality products over having a name brand. Finding places to eat or visit was best done through word of mouth. A business we visited was BCN Activa. BCN Activa supports start-ups by providing teaching materials, monetary assistance, and discounted real estate. This is an amazing way to create a long-term impact on the economy, not only creating jobs for the initial members of the small business but for future employees of the company. BCN Activa promotes innovation and creativity, allowing people to truly explore their passions. People are dedicated to their work but have greater balance in their life.
I hope to share what I learned with my friends and use it in the future as I move forward in life. I am grateful for this experience and loved every moment.
