School is finished & vacationing is in! Looking back at this week, there was a lot of studying to make it to the end, but there was some fun within the studious! On Monday, our group had the opportunity to tour Park Guell and it was beautiful. I loved hearing about the history of the park and walking through its beauty. It was also fun to recognize some areas as scenes from the Cheetah Girl movie! We took lots of pictures and simply enjoyed the beauty of nature intertwined with Gaudi?s art. After visiting the park, my roommates and I grabbed dinner at home and took a late-night trip for gelato in our pjs.
Tuesday brought a lot of studying and preparing for presentations, but we decided to take a study break that night and head to Negro Rosa. Near the end of our meal, we realized Ali was having an allergic reaction to her passion fruit marg. After racing home to grab her insurance and ID, we headed to the emergency room. Needless to say, Ali won?t be having any more passion fruit while we are in Spain.
On Wednesday, we had our final exam in Professor Gund?n?s class. To celebrate the end of studying, my roommates and some other girls from the program had a fun dinner off of La Rambla in Plaza Real. We grabbed gelato and headed home to study for our final quiz in Professor Panina?s class.
Thursday was our last day of school and it was unexpectedly bittersweet! My roommates and I got coffee and sweets with Professor Panina after school and we had a blast. Afterward, we grabbed dinner at our ?Spain Chipotle? and enjoyed the rest of the night.
On Friday, our program had the opportunity to tour the Barcelona Port. We got to ride a boat around each of the terminals and it was incredible. The boats were way bigger than I imagined and it was crazy to think about all of the logistics involved with keeping the port functioning. After the port tour, we headed to a restaurant recommended to us by Professor Panina and it was delicious. We then headed to the connected market and bought some candy. Next on our agenda was the Picasso museum and then as we kept saying ?the park and arch?. The Picasso museum was interesting ? Picasso was a weird guy. The park de citadel was beautiful though and we enjoyed walking around and seeing the statues and ponds. The arch de triumf was cool and we got a great group picture underneath! We had big plans that night to grab dinner to go and eat it at the labyrinth park. After our 30-minute metro outside of town, we were disappointed to find that the park was closed, but we found some benches and used that time to plan our trip to Madrid!
On Saturday we flew to Madrid and have been having so much fun. The city is beautiful and there is so much to see and do. The weather has been perfect and simply walking around the city is so much fun. I am looking forward to the rest of our trip in Madrid and will update on the next post. Until next time!
