This week has been one of the most hectic so far! Which I guess makes sense as we are nearing the end of our trip. On Monday my roommates and I were still in Valencia. Our tour guide, Mike, took us to five different hot springs locations around the towns surrounding Valencia. There were waterfalls, lagoons, and water reserves. I have never been in water so blue and I loved being able to do outdoor activities. It was awesome having a private guide because he was able to make the experience personal to what we specifically wanted, like finding a place for us to cliff jump! In Barcelona, we experience a lot of city life, but in Valencia we were able to do outdoor activities which is personally my favorite thing to do when visiting new places.
On Tuesday we had gotten back to Barcelona and were off again on a day trip to Girona and Tossa Del Mar. If I?m being honest, I was pretty tired but these places were still so beautiful. Tossa Del Mar was especially lovely and I could?ve spent the entire day there shopping and swimming at the beach.
Wednesday, we woke up and got brunch at a very yummy place called Firebug. I walked around after that trying to find my family souvenirs. It was interesting because I haven?t gone very many places alone while being here and having to find where everything was was different with no one else to help. I also couldn?t use my phone for maps because I didn?t have Wi-Fi so I was really winging it, but I know the city better than I thought I did!
Thursday, we left for Granada on an airplane. One of our friends studied abroad here at the beginning of the summer so I was super excited to see what her life was like while in Spain. We visited the Alhambra on Friday which was beautiful. It had the best views of Granada and I thought it was informational to listen to the audio guide on our tour. I would say the Alhambra is the Versailles of Granada. The gardens were beautiful and I know there was so much history there. That afternoon I partook in my first siesta from two until four. While being in Spain, I haven?t napped during the official hours of siesta and I know understand why it is a thing here. It was very hot in the afternoon and I was exhausted so that was the perfect rest time before going to dinner.
Saturday, we took a train to Seville and arrived around four in the afternoon. That night we walked around and got a yummy dinner. I loved the feel of Seville and Granada because just walking around I got a better sense of the town because they were smaller than Barcelona, Mallorca, and Valencia that I had travelled to before. In Barcelona, I still have a hard time finding my way around but Granada was much easier to guess which direction to go in despite the windy roads. I can’t believe my next blog post will be my last! This trip has really flown by.
