Hola mi amigos!!! We have just completed our third week in Spain and our last week of school! This past week was quite the adventure to say the least. On Monday, we went to Park Guell, which is a famous site in Spain that Gaud? designed. It is composed of the most beautiful architectural elements and designs and is located on Carmel Hill. It was a little bit of a hike to get there but it was worth every step! We got a tour all around the sight and took lots of pictures of all the beautiful architecture that also overlooked the whole city of Barcelona! Another exciting thing that happened this week is my roommate, Kate, and I participated in a pong tournament on Monday night and won second place! Going into the tournament, we did not expect to get far at all, convinced that we would be out in the first round. However, we were determined and competed to the best of our ability until the very end. It was such a fun and unique experience, especially considering we were playing against people from all over the world. Another cool aspect of this week was the restaurants we found that gave us a little taste of home! We discovered Gonzales & Co., which is a restaurant that is very similar to Chipotle, however, in my opinion, it was even better! We also went to this American styled restaurant/ bar called Cocovail that had American college flags pinned to the walls, including a Texas A&M flag that we were able to sign! Although we adventured out to several new places this past week, school kept us pretty busy too! Our last week of classes was this past week, so that meant wrapping up with presentations and final exams and personally, my week was pretty jam packed! In the beginning of the week we had to prepare for our final exam since it was on Wednesday and then on Thursday, I had two presentations and a quiz so I had to use my time management skills to study effectively and efficiently for each one.
Finally, we?re done with classes at last and it feels so good!!! It is a relief to be able to not worry about homework or studying, however it was also a really cool thing to experience. Attending classes in Spain and studying Europe?s economy and international trade was so interesting and something I will never forget!
This weekend, my roommates and I are visiting Val?ncia until Monday!! Commuting here, we took a train and it was my first time! It was so nice and relaxing, I think I actually prefer the train as a means of transportation in Europe! So far, we have explored the beautiful city of Valencia, which is a lot less hectic than Barcelona and is not filled with as many tourists. We also went to Val?ncia?s famous aquarium and got to see a dolphin show. Then today, rode a catamaran into the ocean and got to swim and eat paella while on board!!
