My first official week in Barcelona has been nothing short of incredible. On top of attending classes, I also had the chance to explore this beautiful city some more. On Tuesday afternoon, our group toured the FC Barcelona museum and learned all about the history of the franchise as well as the city of Barcelona.
One of my favorite highlights of this week was when we traveled outside of Barcelona to visit Monserrat and Freixenet. Montserrat is a spectacularly beautiful Benedictine monk mountain retreat outside of Barcelona. After exploring the retreat and learning about its history, we traveled to Freixenet?s headquarter. Freixenet is one of the largest cabs producers in Spain. From our tour, we learned all about the companies? history and how they create their drinks. At the end of the tour, we were able to taste some of their products.
Additionally, we spent the afternoon at Barceloneta beach and had a blast! We arrived at the beach around 6:00 pm and didn?t leave until 8:30. One of the best things about Barcelona during the summer is the fact that sunset isn?t until 9:30 in the evening.
This past week has been incredible and I honestly still cannot believe that I am in Barcelona. I have absolutely fallen in love with the city and cannot wait to explore more of what Barcelona has to offer.
