Hola! And welcome to my first week of my five-week journey in Barcelona, Espa?a. My name is Vanesas Villatoro and this is my first time traveling and experiencing a European country. I did not know what to expect but the enthusiasm was taking over any other emotion I felt about this trip.
After a 9 hour flight, all I wanted to do was sleep but upon driving from the airport to our new home all of the sleep just magically went away. I have now been in Barcelona for a week and all of the things I have been able to experience and live are extraordinary and out of this world. The sun does not set until 9:30, the water in the sea is crystal clear and the people (some) can be very generous. The beautiful, well-decorated balconies, the delicious foods, and the beautiful architecture are only three of the things I love about being here. I have really enjoyed the Spaniard style of living, walking and riding the metro is part of the daily regimen very helpful with all of the patatas bravas we have been eating.
I am excited to learn the key differences between the United States and Europe whether that is socially, politically, or economically.? I have only been to two of our scheduled lectures and by the looks of it, I know I will gain some valuable knowledge about the European Union and their way of conducting business. So far, I have enjoyed the way the program has been set up we are grounded with school work but we are also given the opportunity to explore the beautiful city on our own.
I can?t wait for what the next weeks to come will teach me but I am ready for it all. Gracias y hablamos pronto!
