?Apartment Number 4? has really turned into a home away from home. I have really become accustomed to the Spaniard’s ways. I have learned the metro lines and am familiar with my neighborhood enough to walk without a GPS. Which is a win in my books!
Our tour guide Cristina took us on a hike to the National Museum of Barcelona, the museum was at a high point and the view of the city was mesmerizing. After the museum, we walked a bit more to the Montju?c castle. The castle was at the top of a hill and you could oversee the Mediterranean Sea, the pictures could not do any justice to the amazing view in front of me.
This week in class we learned about the economic productivity of Spain and the effect technological innovations have. Through article readings, we found that even though innovations are increasing at a fast pace, productivity has been slowing down and we discussed the different factors as to why this is.
We had a weekend getaway to Madrid and it was beautiful. The flight from Barcelona was only 50 minutes and in no time we were in Madrid. At first glance, Madrid gave me New York vibes, tall buildings, big theaters, and many retail stores. We enjoyed a scrumptious meal, went shopping, walked the Royal Palace of Madrid, and enjoyed some tapas (appetizers) in the famous San Miguel Market. My weekend was well spent and I hope I can visit the beautiful city again.
