Who knew we would get the chance to travel again so soon? When our group was offered to transition our canceled trip to Belgium for the opportunity to actually travel to Spain, I knew I had to jump on that immediately. After multiple pre-departure meetings and the first day of class, my initial impressions of the business program, city, and country are overall positive. There is so much value in learning the fundamentals of entrepreneurship and I feel as if the classes I have taken in the past have only scratched the surface, whereas this program goes in-depth with hands-on experience. So far, the outline for this class has aligned with my expectations of the program and what I hope to learn as a rising entrepreneur.
Barcelona has left me with an excellent initial impression. This city is different from any metropolitan area I have visited and has already offered many insights into culturally contrasting business practices.
Spain in general has left me with a great first impression. To experience something so different for an extended period of time not only increases personal growth and is excited, but also opens the doors to new connections and business opportunities.
Something that I did not expect, however, is the speed of things in two contexts. The Spanish are slow, and our program is fast. The Spanish culture values taking time, whether it’s calmly walking down the street or spending 2 hours at a caf? for coffee, they definitely take things at a slower pace. As for our class, it is going to be a lot of nonstop work. Between assignments and activities, it is moving quickly. I am eager to continue learning and ready for everything this course has to offer!
