It’s been 2 weeks already in Barcelona, and it’s starting to feel like home! I’ve been getting used to the streets of Barcelona and have already established my go-to coffee shop. It’s right by my apartment, and I love talking with the people who work there because they are super nice and always remember me! It’s a great place to knock out some schoolwork and get the compulsory readings done.
We started the week off on Monday walking around Montju?c. We hiked all around Barcelona and go to see a new part of the city I haven’t seen before. We went inside the castle and got to see where the 1992 Olympics happened. We did a lot of walking this day, but it was definitely worth it. The top of the Montju?c Castle was really cool, and you could see all of Barcelona. For dinner, we ate at the top of the Arenas De Barcelona, and we got really good Mexican food. Not to mention, the top of the Arenas De Barcelona had an incredible view.
On Wednesday, we went to an F.C Barcelona scrimmage. It wasn’t a real game in the big stadium, but it was still really cool to watch the players that we had read all about at the Camp Nou Museum. I can only imagine the atmosphere at a real game because everyone was super into this practice one. At one point, a player, trying to score a goal, kicked a soccer ball right at us and we almost caught it.
Towards the end of this week, we went to the Moritz Brewery, and we were able to try some Moritz beer! It was really cool to see how everything was made and the history behind it. My roommates and I immediately left the brewery to go to the airport to fly to Mallorca. We were in Mallorca from Friday evening to Sunday morning. Although we were only there for a short amount of time, we made the most of it and got to experience a lot of different parts of Mallorca.
On Friday night, we went to Palma and got dinner and gelato. We walked all around and went to a market by the beach! The locals were selling all kinds of things, and I got a really cool Queen record that someone had made into a piece of art. My roommates even got a caricature done of them. The next day, my roommates and I went to ride ATVs. We went off-roading and got to see a lot of Mallorca. I was on the back of my friend’s quad, and it was so much fun, even though I could’ve sworn I was airborne at some points. We drove to the coast and cliff jumped as well! They also had stuff to snorkel, so we spent around 20 minutes in the water, which was a perfect amount of time. Our tour guide and other people on the tour with us were so sweet and made the tour even more fun. All in all — a perfect day!
So excited for the next 3 weeks in Spain!!
