I can?t believe yet another week has passed here in Barcelona! This week has thus far been the most eventful. From school to corporate visits to even a weekend trip outside of the city.?
At the beginning of the week, we went on a tour around Montju?c, a hill in Barcelona. The tour consisted of a 2-hour hike up the hill where we got to see a lot of beautiful sights. Before climbing up the hill, we got to see the National Art Museum of Catalonia where we learned all about the history of the building in regards to Catalan Independence. Once we reached the top of the hill, we were able to get a spectacular overview of Barcelona. Also on top of the hill was the Montju?c castle, which is an old military fortress dating back to the 17th century. Although the entire tour was very exhausting, I definitely enjoyed the tour and was grateful to get to see the city of Barcelona in a whole different way.
One of the most chaotic days out of this week was without a doubt Friday. The day began with a corporate trip to Fabrica Moritz which is a company that created the first beer of Barcelona. I truly enjoyed learning not only about the history of the company, but also how they brew their products. At the end of the tour, we got a chance to eat some delicious tapas and try a little bit of their products. After the tour, my roommates and I had a flight to Madrid. Unfortunately for us, we only had a limited amount of time to pack our bags and arrive at the airport in time. It was definitely one of the most chaotic and stressful situations I had experienced thus far. Despite all that, our trip to Madrid was a blast! We got to see the Royal Palace, eat and drink at the famous San Miguel Market, and even see the beautiful Glass Palace in Retiro Park. Overall, this weekend was well spent and I can?t wait to create many more memories in Spain!
