Barcelona week 3! It’s crazy to think we are more than halfway done at this point! I feel like I’ve seen so much, but Barcelona is so big that I find myself constantly discovering new areas around us. Since the past 3 weeks have flown by so fast, I know these next 2 weeks are going to go by faster than we know it, especially without school. This week, we had our final and our last day of school! We started the week off by going to Park G?ell on Monday after school. It was so much fun, and I loved exploring the park. There were so many cool different sculptures around the park, and everything was made with so much detail. My favorite part of the park was the lizard sculpture. It?s one of the most recognizable features of the park, and it was cool to be able to see it in person because I had seen it in so many pictures.
The next day, we spent a lot of the day studying because we had our final the next day. The final stretch! I got to go back to my favorite coffee shop and do some schoolwork as I talked with the employees. However, when we went to dinner, I had an allergic reaction, and the night turned into an adventure to say the least. Needless to say, I will no longer be trying new foods similar to passion fruit. On the bright side, we befriended our taxi driver on the way home from the Hospital. It definitely made an interesting story for our class before our final the next day. After our final, we celebrated by getting a nice dinner with some of our friends in Las Ramblas. The next day was our last day of school! We had to take a quiz and then we free to do whatever.
The day after, we went on a boat tour of Port Vell. We learned more about the port and the logistics of how they manage everything. We then walked to the Santa Caterina Market to eat, which was recommended by our teacher. It was one of our favorite meals and we plan on coming back before we leave again. From there, we headed to the Picasso Museum. It was cool to walk around, and we found a street artist who had beautiful paintings and photographs. One of my roommates even ended up getting something for her room! We then walked to Park Citadel and the Arc of Triumf, which were both beautiful. They were pretty touristy, but it was easy to see why. Definitely worth the walk! This weekend, we are headed to Madrid! We are packing as much of Madrid as we can in three days. Some of the things we?re planning on seeing is the Royal Palace, Retiro Park, The Prada, El Rastro, Plaza Mayor, and a Flameco show! Some of our friends have been the weekend before, so they gave us helpful suggestions on what we have to do and where we need to eat. Hearing what they have said has made us so excited to explore Madrid, and I can?t wait for this weekend!
