Hola from Barcelona! I am so excited to tell you all about my amazing week here in this beautiful country. I feel like time here has gone by so fast, being so busy with school and exploring. It is the end of week 3 of our classes and I can finally say that we are done! The next two weeks we have completely free to travel and really get lost in the culture here, which I am so excited about.
Last blog I mentioned that I was fixing to leave for Mallorca, and I can say now that it was amazing. A group of us went down there for the weekend and it was one of the prettiest places I have ever been to. We got there later on Friday evening and then woke up on Saturday and spent most of the day at the beach. Later on, that day we went further into Palma and explored the city. Before getting into the actual city of Palma, we ended up passing the Cathedral of Palma de Mallorca and decided to check it out. Then we headed into town where we went to dinner, I had some of the best Sangria I have had yet on this trip! I was so excited! Then after dinner, we had a nice walk on the beach to end out the day. On Sunday, we woke up and had an early flight back into Barcelona.
Monday, we had classes and then that afternoon we went to Park G?ell. This park is one of the most visited tourist attractions in all of Barcelona. Park G?ell sits on a hillside by the ocean, so getting up there was a hike, but in the end, it was so worth it. It was former artist Antoni Guad?’s home. The scenery was amazing as well as the art that surrounded me done primarily by Guad?. After seeing the main part of the park, I decided to go up further on the hill to really get a better look at the city. After hiking about ten minutes more I got to the top. I know I’ve said this multiple times, but I felt like I was on top of the world.. AGAIN. Feeling like I’m on top of the world I guess is a reoccurring theme as the views here are stupendous. The rest of the week was busy as we had our last week of class with Professor Gund?n and Panina. This week’s class agenda consisted of some final exams and a few presentations, but after pushing through those I can say that I certainly enjoyed both courses as a really felt like I learned a lot.
This weekend my roommates and I and some others from the group are going to Madrid. We are staying at a really cool hotel near the square. I am so excited to finally see the capital city of Spain! I cannot wait to tell you all about my adventures in Madrid. Until next time!
Viva Madrid!
