Howdy and welcome back to another week in Barcelona! School is officially over and you know what that means, free time to explore Barcelona even more! This week we got to experience a couple of amazing views. We visited Park G?ell, learned about the Barcelona port, saw the Picasso museum, and found the amazing view the bunkers give off to the citizens of this beautiful city.
Park G?ell is the reflection of Gaudi?s artistic plenitude, which is part of his naturalist phase during the 20th century. This beautiful private park had multiple features such as a ergonomic benches, cave like arches, and beautiful mosaic ceramic all around. This park had a beautiful view of the city as it was on top of a hill, it was nice to learn more about Gaudi and his vision through this amazing park.?
We were given a presentation of the Barcelona port, its functions, the sectors it works, the mechanism, and the logistics that go into making this magnificent supply chain work. After our presentation, we were given a boat ride around the port itself! We were able to see some cargo ships and the big machines unloading the shipments it was an amazing thing to see just the way things work and the way every person and machine play a big role in this industry. The boat ride was also a good time to get some sun in and some nice wind in my face.
My presentation for IBUS 450 was on Pablo Picasso, through my presentation I was able to learn a couple facts about the brilliant artist and ceramicist. This week I was not only able to learn about him through Google search but I was able to visit his museum here in Barcelona! The peace that was felt as soon as I entered was beautiful, one could really tell he was very dedicated to his work and people admired him a lot. Through my presentation and during my visit to his museum, I was able to experience his blue and pink era. These were the eras where Picasso used blues for sad emotions and used pinks when he was happy and in love. Pablo Picasso played a big role in Barcelona.
Lastly, my roommates and I took a hike to the MUHBA Tur? de la Rovira this is a panoramic view from the Spanish Civil War where guns were installed back back then. Now, tourist use it to get a beautiful and mesmerizing view of the city. The Mediterranean Sea was looking even more crystal blue and I closed my eyes ?and took a second to take it all in. This was definitely the highlight of my week.
Thank you and come again!
