Howdy, my name is Bennett Veenker and I am a junior Finance major in Mays Business School. Coming to Costa Rica has been an interesting experience to say the least. We have got to listen to a professor from a university in Costa Rica teach us about neuromarketing, try new foods, eat lots of fruit, rice, and beans. Also, we have been very lucky with the weather because it has not rained much and has stayed around a nice 75 degrees. The new culture was definitely a shock at first but it has been a great experience, living in the city with a host family has definitely allowed me to learn how Costa Ricans live day to day. Costa Ricans do not seem to be set on being the most successful, they focus on family and being happy with living. My favorite things that we have done would have to be ziplining and getting to go to the waterfall at the Arenal Volcano. We toured the local downtown and markets and we also learned some Latin dances. I am excited to see what the next week has in store for us.
