Overall my experience has been amazing so far. I have only been in Spain for a week, but I have learned so much. The business program has been incredible. Dr. Pace has?facilitated great group discussions about the differences between the US and Spain. We visited Cellar Diaz and?analyzed their business strategy and I am already brainstorming recommendations to improve their business model. Dr. Pace and I had a great conversation about how Cellar Diaz may be able to increase profits, expand their market share, and grow in size. Barcelona is a very unique and interesting place. It is by far the coolest city I have ever visited. It is more modern that I expected and reminds me a little bit of New York City. However, the buildings are extremely historic and it is much cleaner. Most people I have encountered know at least a little bit of English which I was surprised by. In the United States, a smaller amount of?people are bilingual. I was extremely surprised by the lower cost of living in Barcelona. It is much lower than is large US cities. In addition to Barcelona, we have also visited Girona and Sitges. Each city is unique in its own way but it is clear that preserving Spain’s history is a very important part of the culture. I have had nothing but a blast on this trip and I have truly enjoyed gaining a deeper understanding of the country.
