In just this one week in Barcelona, I already feel like we?ve done so much and learned so much about the city. Going to Sagrada Familia was such an incredible experience that I will never forget. There is something so beautiful about such a grand structure that makes you feel so tiny. All your worries feel so tiny and insignificant. I was raised Catholic and the church I used to go to growing up, also the church where I was baptized and did my first holy communion, was called Sagrada Familia as well. And although it was my first time there, it almost felt like a familiar place. Sagrada Familia really made me sit back and reflect on my life and my growth from the past few years.
So far we?ve had so many different meals. The foodie in me is having a blast! Aside from all the tapas, we?ve tried so many different pastries and so much cafe con leche. My favorite place we?ve discovered so far is a small ramen shop in the Gothic Quarter. It was really cute and so unique, with pages from comic books as the wallpaper. Not only was the food delicious, but our waiter was so nice and helpful. He gave us recommendations and everything he recommended was delicious. I don?t know how but I still have not had paella. That will definitely happen soon! I have had paella back home but now I get to see how authentic that paella really was.
The beaches! Something about the way the Spanish sun hits is so unique and different from back home. I have gone to the beach twice so far and I?m sure I will continue to go frequently. In just the one week we?ve been here I already have an Aggie ring tan!!
