It is my first week in Barcelona studying international business! I have been to Barcelona before, but I knew this was going to be an experience unlike anything I have experienced before. When we arrived, the city was exactly how I remembered it: beautiful and exhilarating. So far we have done so much in just the first week! It has been a lot of fun and has consisted of school, excursions, and getting to know everyone in the group. Almost every weekday we have class from nine to two o?clock. (I have learned so much about the EU, international business, and economics.) Then, we either have the afternoons free or have a group activity. One of the activities we have done is hiking to Montjuic, which is a fort on top of a mountain. It was really pretty at the top and the hike up there was challenging and invigorating. Another activity we did was doing a scavenger hunt around the city. We went everywhere from Casa Mila to the gothic quarter. The most recent group event we did was visiting a business, where we listened to an employee talk for an hour about the Barcelona Port and then did a 30-minute boat tour around the port itself. That pretty much sums up the activities which have been mucha diversi?n! As for food, I had tapas the first night and it was very interesting. At the restaurant we went to, you grabbed a plate, picked the items you wanted, ate the tapas, and then at the end, you took your sticks which is how they calculated your cost. (Just to clarify, all the tapas have a toothpick going through them.) Overall, it has been a really good trip and I can not wait to see what the rest of the month will contain.
