My first thoughts of Portugal as we drove to the hotel consisted of wondering why everything looked so old and dirty. I immediately noticed all the wires that hung from one building to the next and thought “why would anyone want their electrical wires hanging out their window”. The amount of graffiti pasted on every corner of the street became overwhelming. However, as time went on I began to realize that Portugal is much more than dirty buildings and graffiti. Portugal is a place of great history and so much beauty, something the Portugese are extremely proud of. I cannot wait to continue to explore the beauties of Portugal and to all the adventure ahead.
