Costa Rica is a country I was very excited to visit and learn more about its culture. I enjoyed getting to learn about all the different things about Costa Rica in our pre-departure meetings in order to prepare us for the trip. I learned many things, such as Costa Rica is known for its wonderful beaches, mountains, and wildlife. While staying in Heredia, I have learned things are very different here than in the United States: The food consists of lots of rice and beans, you CANNOT flush the toilet paper, and there are lots of people here that can speak English! My time in Costa Rica has been full of many different experiences but my favorite by far was the zipline tour. You got to see all of the different trees and rivers and do all different kinds of ziplines. It was truly breathtaking, the things you could see from up there and I would definitely do it again. The other really cool things we did was go to the La Fortuna waterfall and hot springs. We got to experience both the freezing cold water of the waterfall and the extremely hot water at the hot springs and both experiences were tons of fun! I am looking forward to staying another week in this great country and can’t wait to see what else is in store!
