Qatar gives a sense of calm and order. The city feels peaceful, unlike the busy, fast-paced environment of College Station. The streets are clean, and public spaces are well-maintained. People seem to keep to themselves, creating a quieter atmosphere compared to the more outgoing and social interactions typical in the United States. The city also combines modern skyscrapers with traditional architecture, showing a blend of old and new that is very different from the more uniform style of many American cities. These differences stand out immediately and make Qatar feel unique and interesting.
During this global experience, I hope to learn more about the culture and religion that shape daily life here. Islam is central to many aspects of life, and I am curious to understand how it influences business, government, and personal routines. Hearing the call to prayer throughout the day is a noticeable change from what I am used to, and I look forward to learning more about its significance.
I am also interested in how businesses thrive in Qatar’s growing economy. The country’s development as a major player in energy and trade is impressive, and I want to explore how government policies help promote innovation and success while maintaining the traditions and values of the region. Understanding how Qatar manages peace and stability is another area I hope to learn about, especially since this level of safety is not always present in other parts of the world. Overall, I want to gain a better understanding of how Qatar balances its rapid modernization with its cultural heritage and how this knowledge can broaden my view of global business and different ways of life.
