My trip to Costa Rica will forever be in my heart. I will never be the same after this trip. Costa Rica gave me perspectives that I did not have before. This was my first trip out of the country, and it allowed me to have a greater perspective on my own life. I will break this post down into two categories: how I have personally been impacted and how I have professionally been impacted
First off, I have grown so much personally from this trip. I got to go to Costa Rica with 16 of my best friends. We had so much fun learning the culture of San Jose. We were thrown into the middle of the city where not many tourists go. This allowed us to get a better glimpse of what another culture looks like. We got to play at local parks, eat at local restaurants, and enjoy local sweets. The big thing I am going to take away from this experience is the greater appreciation of people from another culture. This also gives me a greater perspective of how blessed we are to live in such an amazing country. We encountered some heartbreaking stuff that we do not have here in the States.
Next, I am going to talk about how this trip impacted me professionally. We got the opportunity to learn from a few local businesses to gain a perspective on global business. It was such a unique experience to learn from these people. The one thing that really stuck out to me was the influence of culture on business. We got to speak with a man who works at an investment firm who explained to us how the culture of Costa Rica plays a big part in how he runs his business. He also taught us how important it is to stay ahead of major trends in the world. This experience gave me a new interest in global business.
Overall, this trip was amazing. I am so fortunate that I got to travel to Costa Rica and gain so much knowledge and perspective. Pura Vida!
