Bonjour! I have now been in Nice for just over 3 months. ?My experience so far has been absolutely incredible. ?I have made close friends with people from all over the world and gained truly unique perspective. ?I am extremely comfortable with the environment here in Nice and the French culture as a whole. ?I have?even found myself adapting to their time schedule and eating habits. ?The weather here is getting better each day. ?It rarely rains in Nice and most every day is sunny and 70 degrees. ?I spend the majority of my free time with friends at the beach and the water has just become warm enough to swim.
My studies at EDHEC have slowed down significantly. ?I meet for class a maximum of three days a week and often have 5-8 day breaks in my schedule, though each class lecture lasts for 3 hours. ?The classroom environment is quite different from Texas A&M. ?In most classes there is less of an expectation to participate and each class requires the majority of learning to come from outside of the lectures. ?Like I mentioned in my last post, I have done quite a few class presentations. ?The most recent presentation happened just this week in my Marketing of Financial Services course. ?My group is comprised of 8 students from 6 different countries. ?We are performing a case study for one of the largest commercial banks in Europe and we just made it to the final round where we will present to the bank’s management which I am very excited about! ?I have also had a blast working and studying with international students. ?Everyone has their own unique way of taking on assignments and it has really broadened my horizon.
Since my last post I have done a good bit of traveling. ?I visited Paris for 4 days and then flew to Dublin to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. ?I also got to see the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland which was an incredible experience. ?The following week we had our spring break which I used to visit Barcelona and Madrid as well as the Amalfi Coast in Italy. ?Traveling with international friends has been especially fun and has brought us all very close. ?In the coming months I have also booked trips for London and Germany which I am really looking forward to!
This exchange semester has been one of the most incredible experiences of my life. ?I am very excited to return to Texas but I am in no rush to leave this place.
