My first impressions of Qatar has changed my perspective in just 5 days. This country is so uniquely crafted and run to the point where I’ve never been surrounded by anything like it. This county is a Muslim rooted place where only 10% of people are actually from this country. The rest of the 3 million people are from different places all over the world. This country has set itself up to attract business and wealth in everything that it does.
When coming in, I didn’t know what to expect as afar as the program goes. But now after only a few days I’ve been able to gain real world head knowledge about running a business in another country while also getting to embrace the culture in which is so different from my own. The other students on this trip have been a blessing to be around and have pushed me in my curiosity to think outside of my bubble. From visiting businesses, to viewing the history and culture of this place, I am already better because of it.
Following this program I would like to walk away from it had gained more knowledge not only about a completely different part of the world, but also memories that I will never forget. So far we’ve been able to dissect this country right in front of our eyes. Museums have been able to pictorially lay out the history from start to finish. They’ve been able to prove to me the wealth, high class, and Muslim parts that define Qatar.
I have already gain so many new friends and memories that I will never forget. I am Excited to experience the rest of the trip with my peers and be able to see the growth in myself following this program. I am grateful for this opportunity to be here in Doha and am looking forward to new memories being made.
