My study abroad experience proved to be truly exceptional. Enrolling in a course at the Texas A&M campus in Qatar not only expanded my academic horizons but also provided me with a unique opportunity to immerse myself in a culture and environment distinct from that of the United States.
Throughout this enriching journey, I explored renowned museums such as Sheik Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani’s Private Collection, the Museum of Islamic Art, and the National Museum of Qatar. Additionally, I participated in four diverse company visits spanning agriculture, food production, and oil & gas industries. To further enhance my linguistic skills, I took Arabic classes, building upon my existing proficiency in the language.
The experiential facets of the program were equally remarkable, including thrilling dune bashing in the sand dunes and an unforgettable overnight stay in the desert. This immersive adventure involved camel rides and savoring local and cultural cuisines. Establishing connections with welcoming locals was a highlight, as they graciously accompanied me on explorations around the country. Their hospitality extended to a heartfelt invitation to dinner at their grandmother’s home.
I commend the faculty and staff of Texas A&M University at Qatar for their unwavering support and exceptional efforts, going above and beyond to ensure the success of our study abroad program. The overall experience proved to be a profound learning opportunity, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking both academic and cultural enrichment.
In essence, the ability to immerse myself in a different environment, coupled with the joy of learning while traveling, made this study abroad experience truly unforgettable.
