After being abroad for five weeks, I am glad to be back in the United States, but I did enjoy my time abroad. My initial impressions were accurate because it was such a nice place, and everything was so expensive. Thankfully, there were great ways to save money, such as going to a French grocery store or a farmer’s market. Going abroad definitely changed my perspective and appreciation I have back home. This was the first time that I was across a whole ocean for five weeks without being with my parents or friends. This really made me appreciate my family and my country. When I got back, I immediately went to Chick-fil-A and got a 20-nugget meal. The food in France was so amazing, and it did not upset my stomach at all. Fast food is not a major thing like it is in America. French people would rather support a smaller business and take time to eat and talk, whereas American people want to sit in their cars and get food. The pace of life is just different in France than in America. The only place I experience the quick pace, like in America, is in Paris when riding in an Uber or cab. The French drive crazier than Americans.
