Reflecting over my time on the Europe Marketing study abroad trip I realize how much we got to learn and experience in just one month! First, I learned so much from the company visits we attended. It was so cool to see so many different kinds of companies. We visited marketing agencies, a perfumery, the Swiss Paraplegic center, and everything in between. It was also unique to see how different businesses in different countries operated. My favorite part was learning about how each company promoted their products. I loved watching the marketing agencies’ ad campaigns and also hearing about how the Swiss Paraplegic center raises awareness to the community. It was also so interesting to have a look at L’Occitane’s production line. This trip was so amazing because it gave me opportunities to see things that I wouldn’t have otherwise. Another part of the trip that was cool was getting to interact with people from the host countries. The people I got to speak with were so friendly! Normally I would have interactions with waiters, tour guides, or people on the metro. I found that when I tried to speak the language used in the country people were very appreciative and it would lead to a conversation. I can confidently say that after my time abroad I have a much broader perspective of the world around me. Every country has a different way of life and I really enjoyed getting to learn and adapt to each city I went to. Coming into the trip I thought the language barrier and the public transportation was going to be really challenging but once I was there it was much easier than I was expecting. I am so grateful for my time in Europe and for my new knowledge about how different businesses and countries operate!
