My initial impression of Italy was great! From the moment I arrived I was amazed by the beautiful streets, buildings, and the people. Italy looks exactly how I imagined it would, full of color and light. Although the first few days were tiring due to overnight flights and long walks back to back, the views and rich history have made it worth it!
I joined this trip in hopes to gain another perspective on life and to create memories and experiences that will last a lifetime. After spending a few days here, I have noticed just how different life in Italy is compared to the U.S. A few examples are a slower pace of life, food, values, and fashion. Everything here feels more relaxed and slower. Italians seem to truly value quality time by having longer lunches and meaningful conversations. A major difference that I have learned about on this trip is the way Italians do business. It is very different from the US. Here, they focus more on building a personal relationship with their business partners rather than fully focusing on business. These have been very noticeable while visiting out the four companies that our group will be working with.
Overall, I am excited to continue learning and growing throughout this trip. I know this experience will help shape my global business skills and help me understand another side of business that I didn’t know existed.
