This specific program, the Adam C. Sinn Investment Management trip, starts in New York and then goes abroad on a fast-paced schedule to several countries throughout Europe. The first location abroad is London. My initial impressions of the city are that it is much more relaxed than the New York culture we just got first-hand experience in, and that there is an implicit emphasis on being outside more, at least in my perspective. Many people walk everywhere they need to go, or take public transportation and then walk from there, and there are many beautiful parks throughout the city. This is not the case in Dallas, where I am from, or similar to the culture that I believe we are used to in the US. The company visits that we have attended thus far have been highly valuable to me; I hope to gain a deeper understanding of investment management and finance as a whole through these interactions and become a more competitive candidate through acquiring useful knowledge through these things. Thus far, I am extremely impressed with the organization of this global business program and am really enjoying the balance of individual free time, group free time, and company visits that we have. Other things I hope to gain through this experience are invaluable connections in the finance industry globally as well as deeper friendships with those on the trip with me.
