The first week of the faculty lead Europe Marketing trip has been amazing! We started our trip in London, England. I had never been to London before so I was not sure what to expect. We started with some company tours. They were so engaging and informational. It really gave us insight into the marketing world. It was a unique experience compared to the traditional classroom environment. My personal favorite was Design Bridge and Partners! Watching videos of some of the campaigns they have worked on was fascinating to me. It was also super unique that Mrs. Claridge who presented to us had graduated from A&M and even went on this study abroad trip! Along with the business side of this program, it has also been so much fun exploring a new culture. It has been an exciting adventure learning how to navigate their transportation systems. Such as the tube and being thoughtful of how they drive on the left side of the road. It was very interesting to learn on one of our bike tours around London that the reason they do this is because of their history in jousting. Other interesting differences to learn about was the way their government was run when we toured parliament. I hope moving forward in this experience I gain a deeper understanding of all the countries we visit. I hope to be able to think in different ways and have a passion to try new things. Overall, my time so far on this study abroad has exceeded my expectations! Not only has the city been fun but getting to know the other students and staff on the trip has been one of my favorite parts. I cannot wait to keep exploring new places with this program and learn more about the world!
