This trip was such an amazing experience. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to go on this trip. The past few weeks consisted of classes, lots of tapas, and evening walks around the beautiful neighborhoods. I really enjoyed the classes we took on this trip. The first class connected the EU with economic perspectives, and the other class discussed international business environments. I found these classes to be very interesting and applicable to future interactions in the workplace.
The food was definitely something I was looking forward to, and it did not disappoint. We found that food at restaurants and markets taste so much more fresh than what we experience in the US. Walking to restaurants for dinner and class everyday allowed us to walk through many different neighborhoods in Barcelona. Several of our apartments were in La Gracia, which has so many good restaurants, gelato shops, and stores that we loved to visit.
Another aspect of the trip that I enjoyed was the ability to visit so many amazing cultural sites. Sagrada Familia was one of the last visits we did, and it was amazing. I have always loved stained glass in architecture, and the stained glass at Sagrada Familia is unlike anything I had experienced. We went in the evening, so the colors reflected across the interior of the building which was so beautiful. I also really enjoyed our visit to the parliament. It was really interesting to learn about the government system of Spain.
Overall, I had so much fun on this trip while also learning so much about Spain, the EU, and the differences between these areas and the US. The culture, food, and views were all so amazing to see and experience.
