Howdy there! I can’t believe it’s been a whole month since I landed in Barcelona, Spain, leaving my cowboy hat behind and embracing this adventure in a land of siestas.
First off, the weather here is a whole new ballgame. Back in Texas, we’re used to blistering hot summers, but the sun is much more forgiving here in Barcelona. I can actually walk around without feeling like I’m melting into the sidewalk. Who would’ve thought, right?
Siestas are the real deal here, and I’ve embraced them with open arms. Back in Texas, we power through our days, but here, I’ve become a pro at catching some shut-eye under the Mediterranean sun. You’ll find me napping like a champ, dreaming of the running of the bulls.
I thought I knew how to party, but Barcelona kicks it up a notch. Salsa dancing, tapas feasts, and an endless flow of sangria. My Texan boots might not be the ideal dance shoes, but I’ve managed to charm a few se?oritas with my Southern charm.
Now, let’s talk about food. Back home, we love our BBQ and Tex-Mex, but the tapas here have got me hooked. Jam?n ib?rico, patatas bravas, and a whole array of mouthwatering dishes that I can’t pronounce, I’m indulging like there’s no tomorrow.
As my first month in Barcelona comes to an end, I can’t help but feel grateful for this incredible experience. Embracing the differences from Texas has been both amusing and enlightening.
