Wow! I cannot believe that I have already been in Barcelona for a month. It has been such an incredible experience! I dove in head first trying to speak Spanish to the locals and I may have got some funny looks, but I improved! I truly feel like I have immersed myself in the culture here in Spain, and there is so much that I am going to miss. My afternoon siesta is number one! It was hard being away from my family and friends, but I made some new friends here and never had time to be sad!?
I learned a lot from the classes that I took here. I now have a better understanding of international business and how the European Union works. There are a lot of differences between the US and Europe, but we are a lot more alike than most people realize.
The beaches were beautiful, especially Castadefells and Costa Brava. My favorite parts of the trip were seeing some of Antoni Gaud?s works. Park Guell, Casa Batll?, and the Sagrada Familia are just a few of the ones that we saw, and they were incredible. The way he takes inspiration from nature is just amazing.
The food was also incredible! Tapas are my favorite and I will dearly miss the little place next to our apartment. If you ever visit Barcelona, don?t worry about not liking the food. I am sort of a picky eater and trust me, there is something for everyone here.
If there is one thing you need to experience, you have to go to clubs with your friends until the sun rises, jump into the ocean, and grab churros on the walk back to your apartment. It may sound silly, but in moments like those is where I was having the most fun.
I highly recommend any study abroad. You will learn so many things about yourself and the places that you go. Thanks for the memories Barcelona, I?ll miss you.
