Barcelona and Spain has been a really neat experience. Living in the Gothic Quarter in an apartment has been fun, and I have really enjoyed immersing myself in the lifestyle here. Tapas have been delicious, but Sevilla definitely has better tapas than Barcelona. I really enjoyed a weekend trip that I took to Sevilla, as I got to see the Plaza de Espana, The Giralda and Catedral de Sevilla were breathtaking. The tower, the grandeur and high arching yet ornate sculptures of the cathedral were unrivalled. Being the largest Cathedral in the world by volume, it was certainly ginormous. The entirety of the place was covered in stained glass, carvings, and sculptures depicting the life of Christ, apostles, and various other saints.
In Barcelona, I have gotten to see the Sagrada Familia, which was absolutely breathtaking. Such a unique architectural feat was definitely the coolest thing I have seen here. I have also really enjoyed living in the city, taking the public transport and walking around everywhere, getting lost in the streets, and just exploring the city. It has felt very similar to Houston in terms of the weather, but it is the polar opposite in terms of lifestyle. The people here are all relaxed, they stay up super late, the city is completely walkable where Houston requires you to own a car, and it has been an awesome experience getting to see the difference between my hometown and here.
