I have loved studying abroad in Barcelona. The architecture is absolutely beautiful, and it is unlike any other city that I have ever been to. One of the greatest things about Barcelona is the potatoes. They are served for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You can find them anywhere, and they always taste incredible. Beyond the food, the beach is incredible, and there are so many niche places within the city that are so fun. My favorite place to visit was Monserrat. The view is breathtaking, and the structure of the monastery is unlike other places in Europe.
At Mays Business School, we are taught to think globally. To decolonize ourselves from the Western experience when doing international business and to think of other cultures and their business practices. Having the opportunity to visit local businesses has been incredibly interesting. My favorite experience was visiting the Port de Barcelona, where our speaker challenged us to think of a world where more sustainable business practices are implemented. I found Barcelona and Europe?s commitment to more ?green? practices incredibly inspiring and something to hope in the future for.
Overall, I have loved being in Barcelona so far. There are so many incredibly friendly people on this trip that I have loved talking to. In addition, the program is incredibly well planned out, and the visits and excursions have all been so fun! I never want to leave!
