My time in Barcelona has been an amazing adventure so far. I had never been to Spain before, so being able to go on this trip has been a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. When I was considering different programs, the Spain Business trip checked all the boxes on my list, so I applied. I expected to practice my Spanish (which I can speak and understand to a certain extent), attend lectures and company visits, and work on homework and studying back in the apartments. However, my experience here has exceeded my expectations.
Spain is a country full of diversity, with people from various backgrounds living here. You don?t have to be fluent in Spanish (even though in Barcelona they speak Catalan), and you?ll become an expert at using public transportation! (If you thought you knew how to use the Aggie buses, just wait until you learn about the Metro system in Barcelona!) So far in the program, we?ve explored different parts of the city and have had fun participating in scavenger hunts, company visits, and casual events.
Regarding the classes, the lectures have been fascinating, and we?re gaining a global perspective on business, as well as learning about Europe and its journey economically. It?s been mind-blowing to me that the program isn?t over yet! We still have so much more to experience in Barcelona and learn about Spain and Europe, while making lasting friendships with other students. I?m thrilled to see what the rest of the program has in store for me and what valuable lessons I?ll learn.
