This first week of our trip in Barcelona has been absolutely incredible! Our days have been filled with classes in the morning, followed by explorations throughout the city in the afternoon and night. The experience of connecting with everyone in our group during group tours and dinners has been truly unforgettable. So far, we have had the pleasure of visiting remarkable places such as Place de les Cascades, Montjuic Castle, Las Ramblas, and the enchanting Parc del Laberint d’Horta. The neighborhood we have been staying in has been absolutely adorable, offering many captivating shops and delicious restaurants to explore. With each passing day, we are immersing ourselves deeper into the local culture, establishing a delightful routine of strolling to class in the morning, relishing our packed lunch on the university porch in the afternoon, and returning home for a rejuvenating nap, followed by homework and reconnecting with the rest of our group. I was really surprised to see how close our whole group has clicked and become so close together, but it has been a blast being able to spend so much time together in a new culture. It has been really interesting to see the cultural differences between the two countries, which is also interesting to compare what we have seen in person to the different management perspectives we have been learning about in class. Although it was initially a bit strange to adjust to the idea of having dinner late in the evening, this transition has turned out to be an incredibly enjoyable aspect of our journey, and now I can’t help but feel that it will be rather peculiar to readapt to the early dinner culture back in the US. This weekend we plan on taking a weekend trip to Costa Brava and spending our time on the beach and exploring the new city.
