My initial thought going into this trip was that I was going feel very comfortable acclimating to living in Spain. Having a foreign born parent I was exposed to other cultures outside the United States at a young age. When visiting their country I was exposed to many Latin American traditions and ways of life that have overlap in Spain. I also believe getting accustom to the way of life for me was easier because I know Spanish better than most allowing me to read signs and ask locals where to go or communicate to people in stores/restaurants without a language barrier (even though it is uncommon for people here to NOT know English). The most surprising thing for me the first week here was all the similarities I have made between Peru and Spain. With classwork it is a fair work load given to us at the start to balance what I want to do in Spain and what I need to do for class. It is also convenient to check off my bucket-list with the planned classed tours too.
